How to be copyright compliant doing a video read-aloud:
When posting a reading, educators have to abide by the following guidelines which are temporarily in effect until June 30, 2020.
-
At the beginning of your video state that you are reading with permission from and then name the publisher. (More on how to get permission is at the end of this page).
-
State the title, author and illustrator of the book.
-
Post your video through Google Classroom for your students only, which means you need to check the unlisted box when you post through YouTube.
-
Delete your video by June 30, 2020.
-
Send an email to the publisher with your name, school, city, state, book title, author, illustrator, and platform (Google Classroom).
